HOW IT WORKS

If you are in labor or have already given birth, it’s usually not too late!

As long as I’m in town, your placenta has been safely handled and kept on ice, refrigerator, or freezer- I’m here for you.

Call or text me at 442-362-2880, and fill out the intake form—I’ll make it happen.

Step 1: Reserve Your Spot

✔ Register Now- fill out the intake form to provide your information and secure your spot on my calendar.    (Scroll down, click "Register Now" below.)

✔ Request or obtain copies of your HIV, Hep B, and Hep C results (these tests are typically done in early pregnancy).

✔ E-sign the client contract & liability form I will send you along with the “Client Checklist”.

✔ Send a $25 initial payment to reserve your spot.

✔ Pay in full by 38 weeks if possible. Payment plans are available.

Step 2: Prepare for Birth

✔ Bring a small cooler to the hospital—slightly bigger than a six-pack cooler.

✔ The hospital will provide ice and a container or bag for your placenta—your birth partner can be in charge of making sure your placenta is kept and placed in the cooler!

✔ For homebirths, have a Ziploc freezer bag ready for your midwife to place your placenta in and a cooler for transport. If you transfer to the hospital, make sure someone tells the staff you are keeping your placenta, and bring your cooler.

✔ Ensure everything is labeled with your name.

Step 3: Notify Me When in Labor

✔ Try to text me when you’re in labor or heading to the hospital, even if it’s late at night.

✔ After birth, take time to bond with your baby—this is the most important thing!

✔ Call or text me when it's time for me to pick up—or have your birth partner do this.

Step 4: Placenta Pickup & Processing

✔ For hospital births: Staff will place your placenta in a plastic container or bag, help your partner get ice, and place it in your cooler.

✔ When you’re ready, your partner, doula, or family member can meet me outside in the loading area to hand off your placenta.

✔ Your cooler will be returned with your capsules—typically within 24-48 hours.

❄️ If your placenta is already frozen at home, I can still encapsulate it for you!
